is a major program of the World Hunger Education,
Advocacy and Training organization - WHEAT -
operating as an outreach project to end hunger and
seek justice around the globe.
Retail sale of fairly traded quality merchandise
from multiple resources empowers the individual
artisan and supports a sustainable way of life -
providing economic resources for food, education and
housing. |

In
2011, The Fair Trade Store's sale of quality,
handcrafted items raised enough to support 43
families. For every $1500.00* raised, a family of 4
is able to buy food, have a place to live and send
their children to school for one-year.
WHEAT and its Fair Trade Store works with a variety of
fair trade vendors who have direct contact with
people in need within the U.S. and around the world,
encouraging them to work toward self sufficiency
through the creation and sale of their unique items.
