WHEAT's

Supporting Global Fair Trade
The Hand to Hand Project is a major program of the World Hunger Education, Advocacy and Training organization - WHEAT - operating as an outreach project to end hunger and seek justice around the globe.

Retail sale of fairly traded quality merchandise from multiple resources empowers the individual artisan and supports a sustainable way of life - providing economic resources for food, education and housing.

In 2004, The Hand to Hand Project's sale of quality, handcrafted items raised enough to support 20 families. For every $1500.00* raised, a family of 4 is able to buy food, have a place to live and send their children to school for one-year.

The Hand to Hand Project works with a variety of fair trade vendors who have direct contact with people in need within the U.S. and around the world, encouraging them to work toward self sufficiency through the creation and sale of their unique items.
